The Montreal local section of CUPW represents nearly 6,000 postal workers in the Montreal area: letter carriers, postal clerks, vehicle mechanics, and electromechanical technicians. Faced with challenges from Canada Post, the union regularly mobilizes its members to defend their rights and working conditions.
STTP-Montreal chose Fortisia to streamline its attendance tracking process during mobilizations. The result: strike management that is smoother, more efficient, and more reliable.
When STTP-Montreal launched its general strike, the union faced a major challenge: rigorously tracking the attendance of more than 3,000 mobilized members across more than 30 picket sites. Before using Fortisia, the union relied on manual methods for this tracking. At each picket site, around twenty designated patrollers recorded the attendance of thousands of participants. The data was then manually consolidated by four full-time staff members in Excel files.
Before Fortisia, everything was done by hand. We needed 3 to 4 people working full-time just on data entry. Now it all happens in real time.

By adopting Fortisia, STTP-Montreal was able to simplify attendance management during its general strikes. Easy to use, the app allowed them to automate tracking and get real-time visibility on attendance. The process runs in five steps:
STTP-Montreal also uses Fortisia daily to keep union life active: news updates, quick polls, centralized documents, and an AI assistant available around the clock.
